Sandiacre Court Care Centre has begun 2020 with the aim of giving back
to its local community. In 2019, it was estimated foodbank use had reached
record levels and that 280,000 people were homeless. With this in mind, staff
and residents at the home have set up a collection box, encouraging visitors to
donate non-perishable food in aid of the Long Eaton and Sawley Foodbank.
Activities Coordinator, Chris Hickie, commented “We are really proud that Sandiacre staff and residents have come
together and taken action to help those less fortunate than themselves. The
collection is well underway and, with donations steadily coming in, the first
box should be ready to donate in the coming days.
