POLICE ARE APPEALING FOR WITNESSES AFTER PIZZA SHOP WINDOW SMASHED

Police received a report, just before 8pm on Monday 6th April 2020, that a man entered Manor Pizza on Church Street, Stapleford and shouted abuse at a member of staff after being asked to only come into the shop one at a time. The suspect then smashed a window in the shop before making off on foot. He is described as white, having stubble and was wearing a silver hoody. PC Simon Widdowson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Businesses are already struggling due to the impact of Coronavirus and now the owner of this takeaway is facing the added cost and inconvenience dealing with this mindless vandalism. The verbal abuse towards the member of staff was totally unacceptable. Racial incidents will not be tolerated in Nottinghamshire and a lot of work is continuing across the county so we confront issues like these head on. Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and we are working hard to try to track down the individual involved. We're appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to please call us on 101, quoting incident number 775 of 6 April 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
